Frida can’t believe that she’s started to like Abdurrahman… even though she sees him as the last person who could possibly win her admiration. She fears that this admiration might affect her reputation among her peers, and her position within the circle of people she belongs to. She’s torn between staying within this circle and trying to break away from it. Abdurrahman stands outside this circle, wishing he could enter it, but he’s forbidden from doing so. Although this makes him feel trapped, he knows that he won’t find true freedom outside of this circle. Frida, Abdurrahman, Nansie, Hassan, and their friends are all connected by a common bond from elementary school. Now they’re in the second year of high school, and they’ve reached a stage of maturity. But they still continue to learn new things about each other, their classmates, and their families… and most importantly, about themselves!
