In this new edition, Sharqouh Publishing and Distribution presents short stories written by the novelist Abd al-Hakim Qasim for the first time, all collected in one book. This book includes his two short stories, “Al-Mahdi” and “A Glimpse of the Future”, along with three other short works: “The Sister of the Father”, “A Page from the Register of Names”, and “The Return of the Sheikh”. These works have been regarded by critics as examples of excellent short story writing. Additionally, there is a chapter from the novel “Kafir Sidi Salim”, which the author planned to be composed of fifteen chapters. However, the author died before he could complete it. These stories represent a collection of highly distinctive and unique narrative experiences, written by the author at various times, yet they all bear the mark of his creative genius.
