The renowned author Ahmad Bahjat explains the nature of this book as follows: In the “Sea of Sufism”, there are thousands of questions and answers, thousands of drowning people and those who remain afloat. There are also thousands of pearls and other precious objects. There are also stories that are truly amazing, like those from “One Thousand and One Nights”. Instead of stories about demons and their wonders, we find stories about saints and their miracles. These are also wonders in themselves. It’s very likely that we will drown if we don’t know how to swim properly, or if we don’t use the right tools for navigation. We must use the pure sails of the soul to navigate through this sea. Since we are already swimming in the sea of humanity, it’s inevitable that we must use their methods to navigate this sea. We must start our journey in this sea with an open mind, ready to embrace all the winds that come from the gates of the universe. We want a neutral mind before anything else. We don’t want to make any judgments or have any preconceived ideas before exploring the waves of Sufism.
