At the two ends of this book lie thirty stories from the long history of the Arab world. These stories begin with the era of warriors, whose ambitions extended beyond their own time. They sought to overcome all obstacles and achieve victory against time itself. Then came a time marked by great battles, bravery, and cunning strategies—the era of kings. In this era, the land became too crowded for those who fought for power, thanks to the many victories and achievements they achieved. Thus, it became necessary for them to get rid of each other, even if they were related by blood. These conflicts eventually led to the downfall of the Umayyads and Abbasids, paving the way for a new era of mercenaries—Tatars, Mamluks, Seljukks, and others. As a result, there were thousands of caliphs, none of whom actually owned or ruled anything. After that, various occupied states took turns ruling the region. We live in a time filled with despair, but also with hope. There are people who dream, revolts, and a desire for change. There are revolutions hidden beneath the ground, and new light is emerging. We continue to wait for a new era of Arabs, a new birth, and a new beginning.
