Sharq Publications has published a new edition of the wonderful novel “The Seven Days of Man” by Abd al-Hakim Qasim. The story takes place in an Egyptian village—a place that has never been described before: the life of the poor farmers who spend their days in the fields. In the evening, they gather together to sing and chant after prayer. They also dream of the day when they can visit the birthplace of Ahmad al-Badawi in Tunis. “The Seven Days of Man” refers to a way of perceiving things that we have long neglected to contemplate.
