In an old house in a village on the outskirts of Istanbul, the elderly widow Fatima is waiting for her family’s visit from her grandchildren. Fatima has lived in this village for decades, ever since she came here with her young doctor husband to help the poor hunters. But now, she is bedridden, served by her loyal son, Rejab. He is the illegitimate son of her late husband. However, the arrival of Hassan, Rejab’s brother, who became involved in the rising national movement in Turkey at that time, will draw this family into the conflict between Turkey and modernity. A touching story about a Turkish family, amidst the impending military coup that took place in Turkey in 1980.
