Mizuki Shigeru: In 1965, he won the sixth prize in the “Kudanshha” children’s cartoon competition with his work “Mr. Television”. In 1991, he received a honorary medal. In 2003, he was awarded the “Holy Treasure” medal. That same year, a memorial museum was opened in his hometown of Sakai Minato. In 2007, his French version of “Grandma Nunnobaba and Me” won the grand prize at the Angouleme International Illustration Festival in France. In 2008, his French version of “We Will All Die with Honor” won the “Tradition of Illustration” award. In 2010, Mizuki Shigeru received the Personal Cultural Award.
